Artist Profile: Catherine Eng

Overview
Catherine Eng is a New York–based sculptor and installation artist whose work transforms everyday waste into haunting, creature-like forms. Drawing from themes of transformation, care, and decay, her practice gives new life to discarded materials.
Carcass ft. Pretty Bag is a suspended sculpture made from dry cleaner bags and painter’s tarps. Its ghostly, humanoid form hovers mid-air—part armor, part exoskeleton—offering a playful yet unsettling reflection on consumption and vulnerability.
