Josh Sun is a New York–based multimedia artist whose work transforms personal contradiction into immersive emotional environments. Navigating the complexities of being queer, Asian, and culturally liminal, Sun uses projection mapping, game engines, interactive installations, and video to build visceral worlds where longing becomes architecture—spatial, luminous, and charged with presence.

A recent graduate of NYU’s ITP program, Sun’s practice centers on the friction between visibility and erasure, confronting viewers with spaces that demand engagement rather than observation. His installations are not passive—they pulse with motion, memory, and identity. Influenced by the emotional intimacy of Salman Toor and driven to push beyond the irony of early media art, Sun crafts work that is both technically innovative and psychically resonant. His evolving practice insists on being witnessed, not as spectacle, but as deeply felt truth.
