Overview

Matt Gabler’s mixed-media work challenges perceptions of identity, nostalgia, and cultural memory. Using bold colors, layered textures, and collage techniques, Gabler creates compositions that feel like fractured narratives—piecing together history, humor, and contemporary commentary. His works incorporate elements of street art, abstraction, and pop culture, forming a visual language that is both chaotic and intentional.

His 2022 series, featuring The Boss Man, The Most Wonderful Time to Be Alive, and What Did You Say to Me?, explores the tension between personal and collective memory. The combination of figurative elements, text, and abstraction invites the viewer to decode the meaning beneath the layers.
