Artist Profile: Meikle Gardner

Meikle Gardner is a Brooklyn-based multidisciplinary artist whose work transforms discarded industrial materials into vibrant, painterly constructions. With a background in philosophy, religion, and painting, Gardner reclaims foam, cardboard, and duct tape as tools of resistance—critiquing waste, permanence, and value in the art world.
LemonJelly (reclamation 8) blends playful color with raw materiality. Made from packing foam and insulation scraps, the work balances joy and tension—an abstract composition born from the overlooked. It’s part sculpture, part painting, and wholly a meditation on transformation.
