Overview
Natalie Wu (she/her) is a fluid artist and design graduate student at the University of Wisconsin–Madison whose work explores the poetic tension between spontaneity and control. Rooted in both digital media and fine art, Wu’s practice investigates how organic material behavior can inspire hybrid approaches to visual storytelling—bridging physical painting, interactive installation, and conceptual design.

Her process emphasizes surrender as a generative force, working with acrylics, resins, and inks to create visual terrains that echo natural phenomena like fault lines, ocean currents, or celestial light. Influenced by artists like Pat Steir and Holton Rower, Wu embraces unpredictability as both aesthetic and philosophy, offering viewers a contemplative space where emotion and movement leave their mark.
