Overview
Raina Bhatia is a New York-based multidisciplinary artist whose practice bridges graphic design and traditional media. After years immersed in digital workspaces, Bhatia is intentionally returning to hand-based materials—graphite, ink, gouache, and oil—to explore themes of ancestry, gesture, and embodied intuition. Her work moves between abstraction and personal narrative, using tactile mark-making as a way to access ancestral feeling and unspoken memory. Deeply influenced by vernacular design and South Asian ephemera, her visual language balances structure and spontaneity, quiet intensity and expansive possibility.
