Sebastián Meltz-Collazo is a multidisciplinary artist, writer, and musician whose practice explores the intersection of personal narrative and collective history. Born in Puerto Rico—a de facto U.S. colony—his work confronts themes of erasure, resistance, and cultural inheritance through photography, text, sculpture, and installation. Incorporating both original and archival materials—such as crumbling paint from his family home, architectural glass, seashells, and spring water—Meltz-Collazo materializes memory and transformation in physical form.

Self-taught in painting and sculpture following an MFA from Image Text Ithaca, he moves fluidly between mediums to reclaim fractured narratives and construct spaces for healing and reflection. His work is rooted in empathy and aims to foster dialogue around diaspora, ecology, and futurism. Influenced by artists like Genesis Báez and Taryn Simon, Meltz-Collazo balances poetic imagery with conceptual rigor, offering a practice that is both deeply researched and emotionally resonant.
