Overview
Xavier Wormack is an Atlanta-based multidisciplinary artist whose work delves into psychological landscapes, identity formation, and the raw energy of becoming. Working with acrylic, pastel, charcoal, and oil sticks, Wormack’s bold visual language fuses abstraction and figuration into explosive expressions of emotion, evolution, and vulnerability.

His 2024 piece Ontogenesis—a term that refers to the development of an individual organism—confronts viewers with a chaotic, distorted visage that is as unsettling as it is magnetic. Within the swirling lines and saturated hues, Wormack captures the turbulence of transformation: where identity is fragmented, reassembled, and made strange. The face becomes both a mask and a mirror—inviting us to witness the process of becoming not as a smooth arc, but as a visceral and often jarring rupture. His work challenges the idea of fixed selfhood, instead embracing metamorphosis in all its discomfort and color.
